Greek Police

PARC, the Altus Global Alliance (based in The Hague), and the Center for Studies on Public Security and Citizenship of Rio de Janeiro, joined with the Office of the Greek Ombudsdman to produce a short booklet that provides practical advice to members of the Greek Police concerning police conduct. The catalyst for the booklet was the mobilization of the Greek Police for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Thirty thousand copies of the booklet in Greek were distributed. Citing national law and international standards, the booklet discusses recognized good practices concerning requests for assistance or information; stops, searches, and arrests; and policing crowds.
